FAQ - Which operating systems are supported?

We offer Linux and Windows OS templates.
Linux
When creating your Virtual Machine, you will see that you can choose from several Linux distros. However, only the templates with (eApps) receive application level support. The (eApps) templates use the CentOS Linux operating system (currently CentOS 5). CentOS is essentially Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with all the Red Hat specific branding and artwork removed. You can find out more about CentOS from their site - http://centos.org/
Because we maintain our own application repository, it was necessary to standardize on one specific Linux distro to support, and CentOS was chosen as our standard.
Windows
Windows OS templates do not have access to the application libraries. Bundled in however is the Microsoft Web Application Installer, which provides application management features.
